College football rankings are in for the AP Top 25 for the week of Oct. 4th.
Most notably, the Texas Longhorns are out and Air Force slipped into the No. 25 spot. That’s not a misprint. Things are certainly changing on the NCAAF front with the Georgia Bulldogs and Longhorns well out of the Top 25 picture and teams like Nevada, and we’ll say it again only because it’s Air Force. . . . Air Force in the mix.
No. 1 Alabama stayed in their normal nesting place in the top spot after bitch-slapping Florida and dropping them down 7 places from last week to No. 14.
Denard Robinson’s No. 18 Michigan Wolverines and No. 17 Michigan State keep creeping up the ladder on a weekly basis but with the two facing off this weekend in a bitter rivalry game, one should drop by the time this weekend is over.
BTW, Boise State gets an honorable mention just because they have that blue field. Boise’s Broncos dropped down a notch to the No. 4 spot while picking up a lone number one vote.
The Big Ten and SEC were represented by six teams the past two weeks but with Joe-Pa’s Penn State falling out of the Top 25, the SEC rules this week with having six teams in place. Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, LSU, Auburn, and South Carolina are still on the list.
Below is the list of all Top 25 teams:

College football rankings are in for the week. With a bunch more games in the books, the AP top ten hasn’t changed
drastically over the past few weeks since week one.
With a solid 3-0 start, Arkansas did manage to make it into the Top Ten, taking over the No. 10 spot with Iowa (2-1) dropping down to the No. 18 spot.
It appears several voters are falling out of love with Boise State. After receiving 8 first-place votes two weeks ago, the Broncos managed just a single vote for the No. 1 spot while maintaining their No. 3 ranking behind No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 “The” Ohio State.
The Big Ten and SEC were each represented with six teams in the Top 25 with Alabama, Florida and Arkansas actually occupying top ten spots.
Here’s a brief rundown on the top few in the poll, followed by the list of all Top 25 teams.
No. 1 Alabama – 53 first-place votes and 1,492 points.
No. 2 Ohio State – 5 first-place votes and 1,435 points.
No. 3 Boise State – 1 first-place vote and 1,334 points
As mentioned earlier, the SEC had strong representation in the AP Top 25 with Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, LSU, Auburn, and South Carolina making it to the list.
The Big Ten is represented by Ohio State, Iowa, Wisconsin, Penn State, Michigan and Michigan State. (Nebraska who is joining the Big Ten next season is ranked No. 6)

College football rankings are in for the week. With all eyes on Boise State, the Broncos came galloping out the gate
with a vengeance trying to make a statement against Virginia Tech last night but after taking a commanding lead early in the game, they needed a last-minute score to take home a 33-30 win.
With the effort, the Broncos picked up 7 first-place votes in this week’s AP Poll but still remain in the No. 3 spot behind No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 “The” Ohio State.
Here’s a brief rundown on the top three in the poll. No. 1 Alabama – 47 first-place votes and 1,484 points; No. 2 Ohio State – 4 first-place votes and 1,412 points; No. 3 Boise State – 8 first-place votes and 1,399 points
Florida stunk up The Swamp in their 34-12 unimpressive win on Saturday and as expected, dropped down several slots into the No. 8 spot. TCU then moved up two to take over that No. 4 slot the Gators held last week. After an average outing, the Texas Longhorns remained No. 5 and actually received one first-place vote that you would have to think was granted by a local homer in the Lone Star State.
The SEC had strong representation with Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, LSU, Auburn, Georgia and South Carolina making it to the list.
