MINNESOTA – A feared pass-rusher, Jim Marshall of the Vikings had 127 sacks and an NFL record 29 fumble recoveries. One of those recoveries would put him on NFL video highlight reels forever.

As stern criticism concerning Jose Canseco’s lack of character, ill-intentions and sleaze factor mounts, there seems to be a sudden shift in gears with his public relations strategy.
Canseco’s life since retiring from baseball, has taken the route of a desperate man, whoring himself out to productions like Celebrity Boxing along the way; it doesn’t get much more pathetic than that.

Early this week, Cleveland Browns tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. revealed that staph (short for Staphylococcus) infection had sent him to the Cleveland Clinic for three days, and he accused the Browns of asking him to cover it up.

The No. 1 Texas Longhorns are coming off back-to-back victories against then-No. 1 Oklahoma and No. 11 Missouri while scoring a total of 101 combined points. They were rewarded for their performance; becoming the first team since the 2006 Ohio State Buckeyes to receive all 65 votes from the media and becoming a unanimous No. 1choice in the AP poll.

The Alaskan guv has tried to sell herself as a hockey mom and that sell has hit a major mountain in the road. It was recently revealed that Palin has spent approximately $150,000 of donations on clothing, hair and make-up over the past few weeks for her campaign on a shopping spree at Saks Fifth and Neiman Marcus. How many “hockey Moms” do you know who shop at those two stores.

ATLANTA – Former Atlanta Falcon QB Michael Vick plans to change his plea on state dog-fighting charges in Virginia.
Vick is currently serving a 23-month sentence in the Leavenworth, Kansas federal prison for his involvement in illegal dog fighting.

TALLAHASSEE – Florida State University will be anxiously awaiting an upcoming NCAA hearing on October 18. At that meeting, NCAA officials will be discussing the cheating scandals that have rocked the university and put another ding in their athletic program.
The good news is, this time the rap isn’t an athlete raping or getting busted with weapons and drugs. This bad news is, the scandal involved university personnel; more like a corrupt white-collar offense; and higher-ups must surely have known about it.

The St. Louis Rams 34-14 blowout of the Dallas Cowboys will be one of the most talked about games around the NFL water cooler this week.
