Manning ties Marino for most 300-yard games

The Indianapolis Colts rode Peyton Manning’s arm and kept their playoff hopes alive with a 30-28 win over the Tennessee Titans. The Titans on the other hand may be playing for pride for the rest of this NFL regular season.

The Colts (7-6) went into the game on a three-game losing streak and hadn’t lost four straight since 2001 under Jim Mora. The win sets up the Colts for an opportunity to win out and win their AFC South division.

Manning, who had thrown a slew of interceptions over the past three games including two pick-sixes in each of the two prior losses got back on track, throwing for 319 yards and two touchdowns connecting on 25-of 35 passes. The four-time NFL MVP also hit a milestone on the night, tying Dan Marino for most career 300-yard passing games (63).

The loss is devastating to the Titans dropping them to 5-8 and extended their losing streak to six games. With three games left to play and sitting 2½ games behind Jacksonville in their division, it’s becoming unlikely the Titans will see the postseason.

Much of their woes can be attributed to a long 14 quarter scoring slump over the past several games that included the inability to get an offensive score. Running Back Chris Johnson broke that slump with a 1-yard run with less than a minute to play in the first half. C.J. finished with 111 yards on the ground for the night.
