New York Jets get bitch slapped

This week’s Bitch-Slap is such a slam dunk it can be handed out without scouring the headlines for any other candidates.

The New York Jets.

Mention those words and the first things to come to most people’s minds are female reporters getting harrassed, hooted at and allegedly texted pictures of a penis, a fat head coach throwing around F-Bombs like it’s nobody’s business and most recently a coach while in the heat of the moment decides to trip an opposing player to take him out of a play in the middle of a game.

Normally this Bitch Slap of the Week column is reserved for teams who take a beating at the hands of a rival or an exec who shows more incompetence than the guys who were running Enron (Google Matt Millen). But this week it’s only fitting to give it to the entire Jets organization.

If there’s ever been a sports organization that struts around like they’re above the law, it’s the Jets. There isn’t another team in any level of sports who has consistently made asses of themselves like the Jets have done throughout a majority of this season.

Flashback to earlier in the season when Braylon Edwards blew about twice the legal limit and was arrested for DUI. The team came out acting like they were not going to tolerate this types of action but days later, Edwards was playing in the MNF game. What would the punishment have been if Edwards had run over an innocent civilian and killed him like his drinking buddy, another NFL player, did a few years earlier in Miami.

We don’t have to get into the details about coaches with huge waistlines dishing out the F-Bombs and female reporters who may have been sent more than the letters of the alphabet to their I-Phones, we’re on information overload with all that crap.

But do take a sec to comprehendhear what strength conditioning coach Sal Alosi said after admitting tripping and nearly injuring the Dolphins player during a kick return on Sunday:

“My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for.”

Doesn’t reflect what the New York Jets stand for!?

Could have fooled us.
