NHL players design Christmas cards

Thrashers enforcer Eric Boulton shared his recent Christmas card design that involves a Santa throwing a straight right into the jaw of an opposing Santa (shown here) but it’s all for a great cause for the Atlanta Thrashers Foundation.

The foundation that was founded in 1999 is a charitable entity of the Atlanta Thrashers and for years the organization has been dedicated to supporting Georgia-based charities that are committed to improving the lives of children, focusing primarily on health, wellness, education and youth hockey development. Overall, the organization has granted $4 million in donations and charitable contributions to more than 2,000 charities.

This season, the foundation is selling Boulton’s and several other limited-edition holiday cards decorated and signed by every Thrashers player. Fans can purchase and enjoy a set of cards, including each player’s personally-designed card with a stamped autograph. The cards went on sale Friday, Dec. 10, on the Philips Arena concourse during the game between the Thrashers and Colorado Avalanche and will continue to be sold at all home games though Dec. 21, while supplies last.

So if you’re feeling the Christmas spirit and want to send a friend or relative a card with a Thrashers’ Santa sucker-punching a Capitals Santa in the jaw, then get down to Philips Arena and make a donation. Personally, I love this card and concept, it’s all for a great cause and unique in design to say the least. Although I would have preferred seeing a Penguins Santa by the name of “Cindy” taking one on the chin.
