As expected, MLB’s home run king Barry Bonds pleaded not guilty to perjury charges related to his testimony in the much-publicized steroid investigation. Some feel all the charges against Bonds should have been dropped and Bonds is being singled out but the bottom line is, if Bonds lied under oath, after hitting 762 over the fence he may be spending two years behind one; a taller one decorated in barbed wire.

LOS ANGELES – In November, the Dodgers made a contract offer to Manny for two years in the amount of $45 million. At the time, Boras said thanks but no thanks since he had been looking for a 5-6 year deal. The Dodgers left the offer on the table for a week or so and then pulled it back.
Sources say the two sides are speaking about a deal again.

Judge Susan Illston dropped three of the charges against ex-San Francisco Giants slugger, Barry Bonds, lightening the load of perjury charges he will be facing in his upcoming March trial.
That’s a decent start but it’s time to drop the remaining 10 charges as well, unless the government charges everyone else who has outright lied in front of Congressional committees.
Bonds has been singled out, period!

One career that seems to be thriving in this upside down economy is “wrecking ball driver”. Several professional sports arenas and stadiums are scheduled for, or currently being demolished to make room for state-of-the-art facilities.
The Dallas Cowboys will be vacating Texas Stadium after this season after entertaining fans there since 1971. The tab for Tony and Jessica’s new structure is expected to top $1 billion.

As stern criticism concerning Jose Canseco’s lack of character, ill-intentions and sleaze factor mounts, there seems to be a sudden shift in gears with his public relations strategy.
Canseco’s life since retiring from baseball, has taken the route of a desperate man, whoring himself out to productions like Celebrity Boxing along the way; it doesn’t get much more pathetic than that.
