NFL Haynesworth indicted; ‘steps’ into trouble again

NASHVILLE – This is not the first time Washington Redskins All-Pro defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth has ‘stepped’ into trouble. Haynesworth who gained notoriety as a player for his infamous act of purposely stomping on Dallas Cowboy lineman Andre Gurode’s face with his cleats during a nationally televised game in 2006, was indicted on two misdemeanor traffic charges including reckless driving.

Bonds pleads not guilty in steroid case

As expected, MLB’s home run king Barry Bonds pleaded not guilty to perjury charges related to his testimony in the much-publicized steroid investigation. Some feel all the charges against Bonds should have been dropped and Bonds is being singled out but the bottom line is, if Bonds lied under oath, after hitting 762 over the fence he may be spending two years behind one; a taller one decorated in barbed wire.

Felony charge likely for NFL Giants’ Burress

NEW YORK – Felony charges are expected this morning in New York against Plaxico Burress. In the state of New York, if a person possesses a loaded, unlicensed handgun in a place other than his residence or business, it is a felony.

The bad news for Burress is, the days of brushing celebrity and athlete criminal incidents under the rug, is long over (Google Paris Hilton and Michael Vick).

Vick pleads guilty and may get earlier release

VIRGINIA – Under an agreement with Virginia prosecutors, Vick agreed to plead guilty to one of two charges against him. He was given a three-year suspended sentence from the judge and knows that the last piece of his quest for an early release from federal prison is now in place.

ATLANTA – Former Atlanta Falcon QB Michael Vick plans to change his plea on state dog-fighting charges in Virginia.

Vick is currently serving a 23-month sentence in the Leavenworth, Kansas federal prison for his involvement in illegal dog fighting.

Travis Henry Throws NFL Career Out the Window

DENVER – Don’t expect Travis Henry to play in the NFL for a very long time and probably never. The former Denver Broncos running back that is notorious for fathering nine children from nine different mothers appeared back in court this week.

But this time it wasn’t to discuss child support. Henry was popped for allegedly participating in a drug deal Tuesday that was set up by the DEA.
