The SportsClimax.com “Bitch-Slap-of-the-Week” goes to Oakland Raider DB DeAngelo Hall compliments of a 22 year-old rookie starting his first NFL game. In a sold-out MNF game on national television, Hall, a former All-Pro back was taken to school and had his ass handed to him by WR Eddie Royal, a fellow alumni from VT.
With Brandon Marshall serving a one-game suspension, the Denver Broncos called on Royal who had only 2 catches all of preseason. Royal burned Hall all night long and finished his NFL debut with 9 catches for 146 yards and a 16.2 average. Royal’s 146 yards was league best for week one in the NFL.
Hall, the egomaniac, cheapshot was called for two personal fouls that led to a Bronco touchdown. When Raiders coach Lane Kiffin pulled Hall aside to chat about it, Hall argued with his coach on the sideline.
Denver QB Jay Cutler pretty much summed it up with his post game comments, “We played one-on-one football tonight . . . Eddie Royal beat DeAngelo Hall time after time after time . . . that’s what happened.”
Hall led the Raiders in tackles with a total of seven, all solo, but how could he not. Royal seemed to constantly have the ball.
When a trash-talkin’, loud-mouth like DeAngelo, who has had his share of run-ins with management and players around the league, gets taken to school and has his ass handed to him by a rookie who is playing his first game as a pro, it’s a classic bitch-slap.
Kudos, DeAngelo . . . SLAP! you’re the first recipient of SportsClimax.com’s Bitch-Slap-of-the-Week.
